My Role

As Public Relations Assistant with the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce I was given the task to write media releases promoting the breakout sessions at the 2014 Niagara Business Summit.In this release there are many examples of in-house writing style to which I quickly adapted.

Results

Industry Experts to Share Insights at Niagara Business Summit

(Niagara) On November 21, the Niagara Business Summit will offer the business community eight break out sessions focused on exporting, marketing, skills development and innovation. Industry experts from across Ontario will assist business professionals in identifying the everyday opportunities they can leverage to improve their business.

“We are pleased to have industry experts share their insights with Niagara’s business community during the Summit. Their expertise and acumen will provide business professionals with the tools needed to compete globally as well as retain and attract talent to Niagara,” explains Kithio Mwanzia, Interim CEO of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.

The break out sessions are designed to allow Niagara Business Summit attendants to customize their experience, choosing topics pertinent to their unique organizational growth objectives.

There are eight break out sessions, exploring four different avenues of growth potential. They are the following:

  • Exporting – 5 Simple Ways to Get Connected to Export Programs and Things to Consider Before Exporting
  • Marketing – New Client Acquisition in the Modern Economy and The 3 Secrets to Developing an Online Presence
  • Innovation – 4 Creative Concepts to Emerge Stronger Through Innovation and 5 Reasons Why Energy Matters
  • Skills – 10 Easy Steps to Developing Next Generation Leadership and Step-by-Step Lesson on How to Recruit and Retain Top Employees

“The varied sessions enable the business community to tailor their experience and acquire what is essential for their business growth,” added Mwanzia.

The Summit will take place at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls on November 21.
